i’m sitting in phoenix international airport. my time in kona is complete. it was a nice time. blessed. great to get a glimpse, again, of the breadth and focus of ywam’s vision, see it from the outside looking in. nice, also, to connect with some old friends and make some new.
i flew through the night to get to arizona. legs cramped i drifted in and out of sleep. i regret not bringing along a spoon to eat the muffins i bought at safeway – such a disaster when i opened the bag i had to eat the crumbs by balling loose bits of muffin into larger bits and thumb them into my mouth.
there once was a day when a passenger didn’t have to bring along their own food and drink, wasn’t charged for baggage, water, oxygen, toilet paper, and those chicklet-sized pillows.
i hit up the starbucks when i got off the plane. all the faithful were there, gathered. i was a thankful recipient of a few gift cards in the last few weeks and have filled my system with generous amounts of caffeine. this morning’s dose was useful, dangerous in combination with bran.
it’s nice to have a wireless connection, to kill time by surfing, typing, changing my blog’s design, waiting for my old toshiba to boot. 20 minutes to start, at least. i sit typing, aware and hopeful for a new laptop. my PC days are rounding down. i try to conjure up a mac book pro. black or white. i’m not particular.
CNN sits live outside joe biden’s house. desperate to be the first network to get the shot of barack’s veep choice leaving his house the morning after. with all the hype, it’s obviously a slow news day. every 3 minutes they run an add touting the american election (2.5 years in the making) as the ‘most important election in history.’ every 3 minutes i smile. God bless america.
